Enter the red dragon
Monday 27th April 2009, 12:47PM BST.
Patriotic drivers in Wales will be allowed to display the Red Dragon on their car number plates from today.
A law change means motorists can have national flags beside their registration numbers.
Changes to the Road Vehicles (Display of Registration Marks) Regulations 2001 mean the Union Flag, Cross of St George and Scottish Saltire are also approved.
Paul Murphy, Welsh Secretary, said: “Today, the Government has delivered a long-standing commitment to allow the Welsh Dragon on to number plates.
“I hope the Red Dragon will now become a familiar sight across Wales.”

What with boy racers in Welshpool this puts a whole new angle on chasing the dragon, especially if they have opted to go for these patriotic number plates.
