The Prostar Stadium continues to be a happy hunting ground for England Women after a national team romped to their third victory from as many attempts at Shrewsbury.
Hope Powell’s side were convincing victors over a Norway team ranked sixth in the world to continue their preparations for this summer’s European Championships.

A crowd of 4,468 watched England women secure their second victory at the Prostar Stadium, while the men’s under-19 team have also been victorious at Shropshire’s sole Football League venue.
Last night’s outcome was in little doubt from the moment captain Fara Williams broke the deadlock on 21 minutes, an angled shot from the edge of the box squeezing through Norway goalkeeper Caroline Knutsen.
The hosts continued to dominate and the advantage was doubled when a Karen Carney cross was headed home by Williams’ Everton team-mate Lindsay Johnson who bagged her first goal for her country.
England had chances to extend their lead as the classy Kelly Smith – somehow overlooked for the player of the match award by her namesake Sue – became increasingly influential.
But it was Williams who had the final say, wrapping up the scoring with 10 minutes to go with a 25-yard drive which rocketed into the top corner.
