A 3-0 home win against Burscough ensured the Bucks have a place in the end of season play-offs, writes Telford blogger Joe Davies.

Two goals from Danny Carey-Bertram and one from Phil Trainer helped them to a crucial win following Saturday’s impressive display in the 1-1 draw with Southport.

Saturday’s game remains an important fixture as home advantage in the second leg and the final of the play-offs will be held at the home of the highest placed team.

With the support the fans have shown throughout the season in getting the biggest attendances in the league, it is important to get that home advantage for the second leg and the final.

If we can get that, then we have a great chance of reaching the Blue Square Premier still.

Saturday’s game will be tough though and Tamworth, although already crowned champions, will have a strong side out.

We can’t afford to go into the game thinking the job is already done by getting into the play-offs and then trying to get back on form in the play-offs.

Usually, the most in-form team from the run in wins promotion through the play offs and we cannot afford to go into them on the back of a loss.

Following his double over Burscough last night, Carey Bertram has got himself back on form and into the race for the top goal scorer award, although it is going to be a close call whether he will actually win it.

Whether he or Andy Brown wins it, I hope there are more goals to come before the end of the season!

Let’s hope we can get a result against Tamworth on Saturday and see who we get in the play offs.
