£5m burner inquiry closes
Friday 17th April 2009, 2:35PM BST.
A public inquiry into controversial plans for a £5 million power plant in a south Shropshire village has been closed, with a decision due next month.
Planning Inspector John Woolcock officially closed the inquiry into whether plans for a wood chip burning plant should go ahead in Bishop’s Castle after more than 12 hours of summing up yesterday.
Karen Bavastock, of the opposing Bishop’s Castle Group, said Mr Woolcock was conducting a site visit today before considering all the evidence and making a decision by the end of May.
