Britain - DeathA man who was arrested in connection with the death of a woman following a new year’s party in a Shropshire village, will face no further police action, it was revealed today.

The man, in his 30s, was arrested on suspicion of murder after the death of mother-of-three Sharn Jones, in the early hours of January 1.

Police were called to a house in Little Minsterley, Minsterley, near Shrewsbury, just after 3am.

They arrested a man, initially on suspicion of assault. Ms Jones, 46, was taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital by ambulance, but was pronounced dead.

Officers began a murder investigation and the man was arrested on suspicion of murder before being bailed.

Today police revealed they had carried out a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding Ms Jones’s death and no further action would be taken against the man who was arrested.

Spokesman Maria Hawkaluk said: “No further police action is to be taken against a man arrested in January in connection with the death of Sharn Jones, of Minsterley, near Shrewsbury, and he has been released from his bail conditions without charge. A full inquest will be held in due course.”

Following Ms Jones’s death, tributes poured in, with people who knew her speaking of their shock.

Severndale School headteacher Chris Davies said she had worked in the school’s kitchen for many years, adding that staff were “shocked and saddened”.

Tributes were also put on her page on the social networking website Facebook
