Lorry crash closes road
Tuesday 14th April 2009, 11:59AM BST.
A busy Shrewsbury road was closed during the rush hour today after two lorries were involved in a collision, with one bursting into flames.
The Volvo and Scania lorries collided at the Emstrey Island, Shrewsbury, at about 7.15am, and emergency services were called out when one of the vehicles caught fire.
Richard Ewels, West Mercia Police spokesman, said: “It seems to have been a relatively minor collision but it was on a busy spot. Nobody was hurt.”
