Oswestry could stage European football games in the town if plans for a 3,000-seat stand are approved.

Bosses at the Oswestry-based Welsh Premier League football club, the New Saints, have submitted plans to Shropshire Council for six stands to seat 3,000 spectators at the club’s home ground at The Venue in Burma Road, Park Hall.

The application also includes plans for a refreshment shop and TV gantry.

In the past the club has had to play its European games at nearby stadiums.
