Shropshire golfing hero Ian Woosnam will hit the first shot of this year’s US Masters at Augusta tomorrow.
The Oswestry ace – the 1991 Masters champion – will follow honorary starter Arnold Palmer, who will hit his traditional ceremonial drive, on to the first tee.
Woosnam tees off alongside Chez Reavie and Bring Baird at 1pm British time, and will have a familiar face directly behind him.
Fellow Shropshire & Herefordshire junior Sandy Lyle, himself a winner of the Green Jacket in 1989, is in the group behind 11 minutes later with Billy Mayfair and Tim Clark.
