Dog of the week: June
Tuesday 31st March 2009, 8:58AM BST.
Soft, smiley and cuddly June is this week’s Shropshire Star Dog of the Week.
The beautiful four-year-old crossbreed is the perfect family dog – full of fun, love and licks – yet staff at Dogs Trust Roden are completely baffled as to why prospective dog-owners keep walking past the lovely lady’s kennel.
Manager of Dogs Trust Roden Louise Campbell said: “We just don’t understand because June is so beautiful and has so much to offer.
“It’s really sad to watch people just pass her by. Hardly anyone even considers that they might give her a home, when in reality June has everything that you could possibly want in a dog.
“This playful lady finds enormous joy in her walks, and loves to share the fun with you in a good game of fetch.
“She loves her food too – her particular favourite is a tasty hot dog sausage. But above all, the thing that gives June the most pleasure is just being with people. She loves being cuddled and petted and even just sitting quietly by your side.
“That’s why we desperately want to find her a home – because June is a natural companion, and because you can guarantee that for all the love she receives, she will give twice as much back.”
June’s ideal home would be fun-loving and active.
She can live with children over the age of eight, and though she is a good girl when she meets other dogs out on her walks, she would prefer to be the only dog in the house. That way she can have all the love and playtime to herself.
If you think you could be June’s lucky new owner, please visit Dogs Trust Roden, Roden Lane Farm, Telford, or call 01952 770225.

The two people i know with animal rescue dogs are bonkers .One has a spanial that growls and snaps every time you walk past and keeps the vets coffers full and its master off the bed. The other is walked on a lead made from a clothes line??? and when my wife stopped with her dog the person said why do you bring your dog by mine if mine does not like it after a few minutes her dogs tail starts to wag and they are friends clearly the woman was not told by the rescue centre to socialise her dog with others.
