Friday 27th March 2009, 11:00AM GMT.
Job hunters in Telford will be able to get some top tips next week.
An employment and training day takes place next Friday at Dawley Christian Centre from 10am until noon.
Organisations will offer advice on courses, qualifications and apprenticeships and people will also be able to get tips on CV writing, interview skills, coping with redundancy and online job searching.
The event is organised by Telford & Wrekin Council.
Councillor Stephen Bentley, cabinet member for community services said: “The council is doing all that it can to help people looking for work.
“Specially trained staff from the council’s lifelong learning team and other partner organisations will be on hand to give face to face advice on jobs, training and career changes.
“This event supports the work of the newly opened First Point Centre in Telford Town Centre which has been set up as a one point shop to help people affected by the credit crunch.”
Mandy Jenkins of the council’s lifelong learning team, said: “Anyone who wants advice on coping with redundancy, reduced working hours or tips on CV writing can come along.”
There will also be representatives from Telford College of Arts & Technology, Business Enterprise Support, County Training, the Workers’ Education Association, Health Promotion, Family Information Service, Landau, New College and Learn Direct.
