Sir Fred Goodwin’s home attacked

Sir Fred Goodwin's home attackedThe home of former Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) boss Sir Fred Goodwin has been attacked by vandals.

The property in Edinburgh was attacked on Tuesday night with windows being smashed and a car parked in the driveway vandalised.

Sir Fred hit the headlines earlier this year when it emerged he was receiving a pension payout worth around £700,000 a year.

The 50-year-old took early retirement last year after RBS was forced to accept a £20 billion bailout from the government. In February this year the bank announced losses of £24.1 billion in 2008, the largest annual loss in UK corporate history.

Reports suggest vandals attacked his Edinburgh house overnight leaving broken windows and considerable damage to a Mercedes parked at the property.

Lothian and Borders police have claimed inquiries into the incident are ongoing and are appealing for witnesses.

Although normally I would never condone this kind of behaviour I fail to see why this would possibly be construed as ‘News’. After all, most of us would really be affected by vandalism such as this. Somehow I doubt Mr Goodwin’s savings will be affected by this, it’s not like he has to count the pennies to survive like most of us do. He should have insurance…if not, then join the rest of us poor folk out there…all made poorer by those that pocket massive amounts of money as payoffs! Deal with it Sir Fred, life sucks for most of us…you can hardly complain you are skint!

I see from the BBC website that RBS (and therefore us as tax payers) are paying for security at Sir Fred’s home. Why? He doesn’t work for them anymore and he can afford to pay for his own security.

Whilst one cannot condone such acts, what we may be seeing is the dawn of realisation amongst ordinary decent people as to how much damage has been done

Those same group of people now see that things MUST change, one way, or another.

    The Storm clouds are gathering.

    Look out.
