Builders in school bid

Wednesday 25th March 2009, 11:07AM GMT.

Developers hoping to win a £200 million contract to revamp Telford schools have met council chiefs.

The six potential contractors were at Telford International Centre yesterday where they were encouraged to bid for the tender to revamp educational sites as part of the multi-million pound programme.

The award-winning Abraham Darby Academy Band provided the entertainment during the Bidder’s Day as its school will be the first to be rebuilt under the scheme.

The six businesses now have two weeks to submit their response. They will be whittled down to a final two and will be given 12 weeks to submit a tender for the contract.
