Appeal by tragic walker’s family

Monday 23rd March 2009, 6:58PM GMT.

The family of a Shropshire man who died after being involved in a collision with a car have made an emotional appeal to find his brother.

William Furber, 54, known as Ron to family and friends, died after the collision which happened while he was walking on the B4397 between Ruyton-XI-Towns and Shotatton on March 12.

Dale Furber, his nephew, paid tribute to his uncle, of Llwyn Road, Oswestry, and revealed the family were struggling to locate Brian Furber, Ron’s brother.

Dale said: “Ron devoted his life to looking after his mother Annie, until she passed away about four years ago. He basically gave up his life to look after her and he was totally devoted to caring for her.

“We have been trying to contact his brother Brian, but we are really having problems and are asking if anyone knows where Brian is to get in touch with us.

“He was married but later divorced and the last we heard he was staying in a caravan in Coventry with a woman called Mizzy.

“We don’t know when the funeral will be, but obviously we want to let Brian know what has happened.

“As far as we know Brian doesn’t have any children. He was a bouncer for a while a few years back at the Last Inn at Hengoed and the Pedigree pub, but we have lost touch.

“If anyone knows his whereabouts please call us on 07967 944135.”
