Two injured in collision

accident_sign5Two people were taken to hospital, including an 80-year-old man who had to be cut free from a car, following a collision near Oswestry.

Two vehicles were involved in the incident, which happened in Station Road, Weston Rhyn, at about 9.15pm yesterday.

Firefighters had to force open the doors of one of the two Peugeots involved to release the elderly driver.

He was taken to Wrexham Maelor Hospital.

Three men in their early 20s were in the other vehicle. Two were unhurt but the driver was unconscious for a short time. He was also taken to hospital.
