Police bail raid suspect

bp-forton-road2A 50-year-old man questioned by detectives in connection with an armed raid on a Shropshire petrol station has been released on bail, police said today.

The man was arrested in the Woodside area of Telford on Tuesday afternoon on suspicion of robbery.

The arrest followed a raid on Sunday in which a masked robber walked into the BP Nix Service Station in Forton Road, Newport, and threatened the young female assistant with a handgun before fleeing with cash.
