Factory story to be staged

Silhouette factory in Harlescott, Shrewsbury
The story of thousands of Shropshire workers will take to the stage in the county later this year – and tickets are selling fast.
Silhouette, a show by Chris Eldon Lee, will tell the story of the underwear factory workers in Shrewsbury in the 1960s. It is a mix of comedy, nostalgia, ’60s music – and plenty of period underwear.
It will be on at Market Drayton Festival Centre on November 13 and 14 (01630) 654444, and at Shrewsbury’s Theatre Severn from November 17 to 21 (01743) 281281.
The performances will feature the Mere Singers and ’60s band the Old Sew and Sews.

Perhaps we could have lots of the old photographs printed in the Star, as so many of my friends worked there during the 60′s. And nearly every girl in Shrewsbury wore a 12/6d little x and our Mums wore the Little Extra.
