Crash death motorcyclist is named

A motorcyclist who was killed after his bike was involved in a collision with a 4×4 vehicle on the Shropshire and Cheshire border was today named by police. Officers have also re-appealed for information.

Alan Brady, 49, of Urmston, Manchester, died at the scene of the crash on the A49 Tarporley Road, Willey Moor, between Whitchurch and Bickley, on Sunday.

Cheshire Police today re-appealed for anybody who witnessed the collision to contact them to help with the investigation into the incident.

They said the incident happened just after 10.30am. The collision involved a red Honda Fireblade motorcycle travelling towards Whitchurch, which was involved in a collision with a black Jeep travelling in the direction of Tarporley.

Rider Mr Brady was pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokesman for Cheshire Police today said: “Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision.

“Could any witnesses with any information contact the specialist investigation unit at Crewe.”

Chris Kowalik, West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman, has previously said that Mr Brady had suffered numerous injuries.

An ambulance crew tried to save him but he was confirmed dead at the scene, he added.

Anybody who witnessed the collision or has any information which may help the investigation, including people who saw either vehicle being driven in the moments before the crash, is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 0845 4580000.
