We can take trophy, says Chambers

Larry Chambers talks to AFC Telford blogger Joe Davies about the FA Trophy and insists: “We can still win it.”
Despite admitting that his AFC Telford side are the underdogs, Assistant manager Larry Chambers insists they can beat York City in the FA Trophy semi-final to reach Wembley.
Telford will not be worried by the prospect of playing the Blue Square Premier side this weekend, having already beaten fellow league sides Northwich Victoria, Burton Albion and Kettering Town this season.
Chambers said: “We are the underdogs. I think if you read any of the newspapers and websites you will see they are the favourites. They have admitted they are the favourites because of their league status.”
Having watched York City’s last game, Chambers said: “We saw them play away at Ebbsfleet the other day and they were organised, well structured and strong. We will need to be at our best to beat them.
“We can win the game. They have injuries and cup tied players and I think we always have a chance.”
One downside of the two-legged affair, however, is that the all-important second leg is away at the Kit Kat Crescent.
“Ideally, we would have liked the first leg to be away from home and then have the second leg back at the New Bucks Head with all our fans behind us,” Chambers said.
“Without a shadow of a doubt our fans give us an edge, they are superb home and away. Our players are very fortunate to have fans like this at the level we are at,” he added.
With the prospect of the club achieving an amazing treble, Chambers said: “The league is really our main aim, although we are now only two games away from Wembley.
“We really want to win all three competitions we are in, but after the next fortnight we want to be in the FA Trophy Final and within touching distance of the league as well.”
