Five in court after killing

george-blackFive people appeared in court today in connection with the murder of Shropshire man George Black.

Robert Field and Gareth Powell, both of Shobdon, near Leominster, appeared at Stafford Crown Court jointly accused of murdering Mr Black in December.

They are also accused of arson at his Bucknell home with intent to endanger the life of Sylvia Marie Smith.

Steven Smith and Sylvia Smith, both of Hope-under-Dinmore, are charged with perverting the course of justice.

Sylvia Marie Smith is charged with conspiracy to murder Mr Black and attempting to pervert the course of justice.

All five are due in court on May 29 to enter pleas.
