Moss: Keep backing Town
Friday 6th March 2009, 4:00PM GMT.
Rejuvenated right-back Darren Moss has pleaded with Shrewsbury fans to show the team their support over the final 11 games of the season.
Some frustration has crept in around the Prostar Stadium in recent weeks as Town attempt to force their way back into the League Two promotion picture.
Boss Paul Simpson last week called for the backing of supporters for the end-of-season run-in – and Moss has echoed that cry ahead of the visit of Notts County.
“The frustration from the fans is a little bit of a concern,” said the 27-year-old.
“They pay their money and they are entitled to do as they please, but it’s not helpful to the lads.
“We know that we need to put the performance in to change things, but we want the supporters to get behind us and give us a lift sometimes.”
Moss is a likely starter tomorrow as Notts County visit Shropshire – and he knows that he is playing for his future at the club.
The Wrexham-born man is out of contract at the end of the season but is positive about his situation.
He added: “I was delighted to back in action on Tuesday (against Exeter).
“I had a good run in the team before the suspension. Getting back in the team has given me a real boost.
“Paul (Simpson) has shown faith in me and obviously I want to be repay that.
“We’ve got to take the positives out of Tuesday’s game and discard the negatives.
“We can still achieve promotion and all of the lads will be doing everything they can to make it happen.
“Nobody has given up on automatic promotion, but if it has to be the play-offs then so be it. There would be nothing better than to go up at Wembley.”
Moss was a prominent figure for Town from November through to February before a red card against Bournemouth set him back.

being frustrated is not helpful. maybe the team should win games ,maybe the players should watch some of the crap they are showing us on the pitch

A positive article and one that needs circulating around the dressing room. There has been a lot of hype about promotion this season and over recent weeks this has been called into question. No team is given automatic right to win a game and promotion comes from consistency. Every week the players should consider they are playing for their futures. After all, if the club achieve promotion is the current squad good enough to maintain their league one status. Lets get behind the boys and build on the Exeter result to put a consistent unbeaten run together.

Moss “There would be nothing better than to go up at Wembley.”
For me, an automatic promotion would be better than Wembley. Let’s set that as the target and concentrate our efforts on that.

Yawn! Different player – same story. Do we have to be subjected to this drivel every week from a town player? All looks a bit pathetic and desperate, begging fans to carry on supporting them, town already league 2 laughing stock!
