1,000 NHS dental places in town

Thursday 5th March 2009, 12:10PM GMT.

dentistA thousand new places for NHS dentist treatment were today up for grabs in Newport.

The places come after Keith Borrett, practice owner of Britannia House Dental Practice, was awarded a contract by Telford & Wrekin Primary Care Trust.

He had previously only been allowed to treat private patients and child NHS patients, but now, after a five-year battle, he has been awarded a contract to treat adult patients on the NHS.

Mr Borrett said: “They have initially allowed me to do 1,000 then the full adult contract will be negotiated. It’s a significant change.”
