Michael Jones
Devastated friends of a 20-year-old Shropshire man killed in a car crash today paid tribute to the devoted Liverpool fan.
Michael Jones, known as Mike or Mikey, of Penybryn Crescent, Whittington, died after his car was found in a field on Sunday morning. A female passenger suffered minor injuries.
It is understood he had worked at JMF Interiors as a tiler and floor fitter since April 2006.
Today the former Lakelands School pupil’s page on social networking site Facebook was flooded with tributes.
Lee Price said: “RIP Mike. You will be missed mate.”
Rayyan Chowdhury, who went to college with Mr Jones, said: “I remember when we used to try and rap and sing to some of our favourite sings on our breaktime in college just more than four years ago.
“Your (sic) a legend and your (sic) gonna be missed bro.”
Hollie McCreadie said: “Sleep tite (sic), my gorgeous, darling cousin.”
Another cousin, Kayleigh Newport, said: “RIP Mikey, u r the best cousin ever. Never forget the time in Cyprus when u and Ross looked after me. Thinking about u always. YNWA (You’ll Never Walk Alone) x.”
Mr Jones’s Facebook page was last updated by him on Friday night and shows photos of him with friends on New Year’s Eve and on holiday.
Other residents in Whittington also paid tribute.
Resham Bhagria, owner of Three Trees Premier Shop, said his daughter and Mr Jones had been classmates at Lakelands School, Ellesmere. He described him as “a lovely lad”.
Jonathan Martin, on behalf of the Martin family, which runs JMF, said Mr Jones would be “sorely missed”.
“Mike was a good friend and important part of our family company,” he said.
“He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Our thoughts are with his family at this most difficult time.”
