Thursday 26th February 2009, 5:00PM GMT.
A Shropshire-based mobile phone specialist is to create 65 new jobs in the Midlands, including up to 10 new posts at its Telford headquarters.
Geko Direct, on the Queensway Business Park, is experiencing rapid growth despite the recession and is looking to bring in an extra 65 sales staff.
The company, which provides mobile phone solutions for small to medium sized enterprises across the country, employs about 170 staff across its offices in Telford, Birmingham, Stoke and Sunderland.
Dave Carter, managing director of Geko Direct, said: “In this current economic climate it’s great to be driving the business forward by recruiting new staff.”
Geko was set up in 2001 by Mr Carter, the former commercial manager of Phones 4 U. It has 40,000 clients nationwide.
