My parents ran this pub for years. It’s a sad day, and a big loss for Donnington. Places like this used to be the focal point of whole communities.

Soon all we’ll be left with is generic chain pubs, all with the same menus and the same decor.

Larry, your comments are not shared by all.
The jockey was once a popular place for people to meet and socialise. A focal point of the community.
The demise of real communities like this is why society is in such a state.
It is views like yours that are narrow minded and offensive to others.
The demolition of the jockey is an end of an era, I myself know several people who will dearly miss it’s presence in Donnington.
Can I suggest that if you hold our town in such low regard you cross the border and find somewhere else to live!
I hear housing is cheap in Wales at the moment…

Dave, if any sane person were able to understand what it is you said, then maybe they could comment on it properly. As it is, perhaps you shouldn’t have dropped out of school at so early an age.

I live in Donnington and I can say I’m glad its gone. It was a eyesore now if they would only knock down the Parade & library

I to will miss the Jockey, It may have been an eyesore when it was left to rot, but the memories that I and fellow staff who worked, lived and drank there have of the pub will live on.
