Former Dawley girl Georgina “George” Brown (nee Swallow) got in touch this week. She has been living just outside Salt Lake City, Utah, for the past 16 years.

“I moved here because I married an American,” says George.
“I try and get ‘home’ every year. Though I only have a few aunts left, it’s important to me.
“I went to school at the Phoenix, and have kept in touch with several friends.
“Utah is a desert, so I really miss the green countryside, the street markets and even the small roads, which make for interesting driving when everything over here is on such a large scale.
“My husband is a falconer and wants to move over to the UK as he says it’s better over there.
“I would like to move back to take care of the family, and though my knees aren’t in the best of shape, I want to walk up The Wrekin, which I haven’t done in over 30 years.”
