Bikers in tribute to father
Saturday 21st February 2009, 11:29AM GMT.
Dozens of bikers are expected to turn out in force in Market Drayton this weekend in memory of “a friend and brother to all in the biking community”.
Fellow motorcyclists and friends of Richard Feather, from Tern Hill, will take part in a “ride out” around the area in his memory.
The 38-year-old father-of-three was killed when he was involved in a collision on the A41 at Rosehill, Tern Hill, near Market Drayton, on Sunday.
The ride is due to start at the Stormy Petrel pub in Tern Hill at 3.30pm tomorrow.
It will then move on to the accident scene where a two-minutes silence will be held, followed by a slow ride back to the pub where a reception is planned.
Ian Freeman, landlord at the pub, said Mr Feather was “a nice family man”, popular in the north Shropshire biking community and that he would be sorely missed.
“I would expect probably in excess of 30 to 40 people to turn out,” he said. “He was well known throughout the biking community so even if people don’t remember him by name, then people like to show respect.”
Police have appealed for witnesses to the collision, which happened at about 4.20pm, to get in touch.
Information can be passed to Market Drayton police by calling 0300 3333000.
