River body is named

A body found in undergrowth close to the River Severn near Bridgnorth has been identified as missing Broseley woman Sheila Kane, who had been missing since December 1.
The body was discovered by police officers in Eardington on February 11 and a post mortem was carried out yesterday.
Mrs Kane went missing from her home in Belvedere Gardens, Ironbridge Road.
Police spokeswoman Maria Hawkaluk today said: “The body has been positively identified as that of Sheila Kane.
“She was identified through dental records. Her death is being treated as unexplained.
“A post mortem was carried out yesterday but further tests are needed to try and establish the cause of death.
“An inquest will be opened by the coroner for south Shropshire, Anthony Sibcy, in due course, a date has not yet been set.
“A report will be prepared by officers for a full inquest which will be held at a later date.”
Mrs Kane, who was 57 years old, was last seen as she left her house.
Police carried out house-to-house inquiries in the town following her disappearance and handed out leaflets with information about Mrs Kane.
A major search was launched in the days following her disappearance which included the North Wales Mountain Rescue Team, the police helicopter and police dogs.
At the time police said her disappearance was out of character.
