Heroes coming to town
Monday 16th February 2009, 3:45PM GMT.

”I’m not sure if that eyeshadow works with the make-up, sir.” Sandy Millard, Clinique beauty consultant at Debenhams, with The Joker, as portrayed by Chris Rowe
Cartoon, sci-fi and film fans enjoyed a special treat at Telford Shopping Centre when they came face-to-face with some of their favourite stars.
Characters from films and programmes including Doctor Who, Star Wars, The Matrix, Heroes and Batman met their fans and posed for photographs for six hours on Saturday and Sunday.
The characters made a special visit to the town before next Saturday’s Midlands Movie Comic Media Expo at the International Centre in Telford.
Fans young and old mixed with the characters, which included a Cyberman from the original Doctor Who series, a Matrix Agent, Cheerleader Claire from Heroes, Catwoman, and Stormtroopers from the Star Wars movies.
The event came after Stormtroopers had proved a great success over previous years but shopping centre managers said they wanted to offer an even bigger preview this year.
Thousands of shoppers took the chance to have their photographs taken and find out what will be going on next weekend.
Midlands MCM Expo is the UK’s top event for fans of sci-fi and fantasy movies, comics and games and is returning to Telford for the fourth year.
Midlands MCM Expo is a family event with games, comics, movies, special appearances and much more.
