Arrests as shots heard

OswestryArmed police were called to a Shropshire town after shots were fired.

Two men were later arrested following the incident in Gatacre Avenue, Oswestry at about 7.15pm on Friday.

One has been charged and was due to appear before Shrewsbury magistrates today, charged with possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence. The other has been released on bail. 

Richard Ewels, police spokesman, said: “Two shots were fired, no-one was hurt. The firearm involved was a shotgun which has been recovered by police.”
