Leps and Snake join Download bill

Def Leppard - Picture copyright of Jason Sheldon. British rock heavyweights and Whitesnake have been added to this year’s three-day Download Festival bill, as tickets went on sale this morning.

Def Leppard have been confirmed to headline on the main stage on one of the three nights, returning to Donington Park after a 23-year gap, having played Monsters of Rock in 1986.

Whitesnake - Picture copyright of Jason Sheldon. The Leps will be joined on the bill by Whitesnake, make their way back to Donington for the fourth time, following a world tour with Def Leppard last year which included a triumphant gig at Birmingham NEC Arena.

Also joining the bill are recently reformed nu-metallers Limp Bizkit, making their Download debut, and Orlando heavy metallers Trivium, returning to Download for a third time.

These all join Slipknot, Motley Crue. Korn, Pendulum, The Prodigy, Devildriver and DragonForce at this year’s Download Festival,  on June 12-14, 2009.
