Show should go on after break-in

Volunteers who arrange for films to be shown at a village hall near Oswestry have vowed the show will go on despite the theft of their movie projector.
Burglars stole the projector, as well as five laptops and IT equipment, during a raid at the Broadplace room, Trefonen Village Hall, between 9.30pm on Friday and 11.30am the next day.
The theft has led to computer classes having to be cancelled at the hall and concerns were raised on how the loss of the projector would affect the Flicks in the Sticks film programme, which organises movies to be shown in rural locations throughout Shropshire.
But members of the scheme in Trefonen said they were keen for the programme to continue and would find a projector in time for the next scheduled movie show on February 21.
Val Smout, local organiser, said: “It is such a shame the projector was taken, but we are working on getting a replacement available in time for the next movie.”
Kay Kimber, Broadplace management committee chairman, said: “It is upsetting because the whole programme is run by volunteers and has helped unite the community.
“The laptops and broadband kit was kept in a locked safe, in a locked cupboard, in a locked room, but somebody has got in and taken the lot. We are now looking at upgrading our security.”
