Foster, 50, is thought to have murdered Jill, 49, and Kirstie, a pupil at Ellesmere College, before setting fire to their £1.15 million home, Osbaston House in Maesbrook, and killing himself in August, after falling into debt. Mr John Ellery, mid and north Shropshire coroner, will hold the inquests at Shrewsbury Magistrates Court on April 2 and 3.

The family was laid to rest at St John’s Church in Maesbrook in December, four months after the tragic events at Obaston House.

The village came to a standstill as a single hearse carrying the coffins of Jill and Kirstie arrived shortly on the morning of December 19.

A separate service was held later for Foster, where mourners heard he was too ashamed to tell his family of the debt he was in.

At Foster’s funeral, The Venerable Tony Sadler, who led the service, said: “Sadly, Christopher had not shared his recent financial difficulties with his family and could not bring himself to do so.”
