Blanket coverage for snowy weather

Sunday 8th February 2009, 12:00AM GMT.

The snow has been making the biggest headlines this week. Our weekly podcast looks back on a chilly week just gone and ahead to the next seven days.

James Shaw and Amy Bould look back on a week which saw Shropshire’s worst snow for years, with nearly 100 school closed, cars abandoned and, in some places, up to a foot of snow

On the sporting front, Chris Hudson says that AFC Telford United’s success on no less than three fronts may be a mixed blessing.

Meanwhile Shrewsbury Town hope to reinforce their fortress status at the Prostar Stadium with a win against Chesterfield next Saturday.

Also in next week’s Shropshire Star, we’ll be celebrating the 200th anniversary of Charles Darwin’s birth on February 12 and it will be roses everywhere as county lovers celebrate Valentines Day on February 14.

For film fans, make sure you check out tomorrow’s Shropshire Star for full coverage from tonight’s Baftas ceremony.
