Mining stocks support FTSE 100

Mining stocks continue to support the FTSE 100, which was trading over nine points higher at 4,173.80 by 09:20 GMT.
Kazakhmys shares rose 7.38 per cent, while BHP Billiton was up 3.28 per cent and Vedanta Resources was trading 2.61 per cent higher.
Insurers were also rising on the index in early trading, led by Aviva.
Shares in Aviva jumped 8.79 per cent by 09:24, after the insurer reported a better-than-expected 8.6 per cent rise in full-year sales.
Old Mutual rose 3.95 per cent, and Prudential was up 3.22 per cent on the leading share index.
However, there were a number of stocks in the red, with software firm Sage leading the list.
Sage shares fell 5.33 per cent, while pharmaceutical firm AstraZeneca saw shares drop 4.05 per cent.
Overnight, US stocks lifted on stimulus hopes. The Dow Jones index closed 1.78 per cent higher.
