Gang attacks pair in town centre
Monday 2nd February 2009, 11:47AM GMT.
Two men were attacked and forced to hand over jewellery and a mobile phone when they were targeted by a gang of robbers on a night out in Telford.
One of the victims suffered a suspected broken nose in the robbery, which happened near McDonald’s in the Telford Shopping Centre.
The pair, aged 20 and 27, were outside the fast food restaurant on North Sherwood Street when they were approached by a group of about five or six men about 9.40pm on Saturday.
Police were today checking CCTV footage.
Chris Ammonds, Telford police spokesman, said today: “The 27-year-old was forced to hand over his Sony Ericsson mobile phone and suffered a suspected broken nose as a result of this incident, while the 20-year-old suffered bruising and reddening to his face and cheek and was forced to hand over two yellow metal necklaces and a lighter.
“At the present time officers do not have detailed descriptions of the offenders in this incident although the majority of the group are believed to be white males.”
Mr Ammonds said: “Witnesses believe there may also have been at least one black male in the group.
“Police are currently studying CCTV of this incident to establish whether this may have clues to the identity of the individuals responsible for this robbery.”
Anyone who believes they may have information about this incident, or who may have seen the group of males involved in the town centre on Saturday night, is asked to contact officers at Malinsgate Police Station on 0300 3333000.
Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be called confidentially on 0800 555111.

I live in telford and used to go to the county training in town. This is where people go who dont have a job and you have to do alot of rubbish waste of time work. I used to walk past the mcdonalds in town on my way to the county training building and used to have to work at the PDSA shop on the weekdays. I used to walk past the train station and down the back of an alley to get to the building. County training was every friday from 9:00am till 12:00pm then after that i walked home the same way i came. I caught the bus and got home say around 1:30. The rest of the day i usually watched tv maybe go up on my computer. I usually went to bed at night and had to go to county training the next friday. but i had to go and steam clothes at the PDSA shop before i went to county training on the friday

Maybe we should finish the story….
… Therefore I am a waste of space, should stop applying for jobs that I am not qualified for e.g surgeon, accountant or even CEO of Microsoft. I will in future apply for jobs I am qualified for such as cleaner, factory worker or office junior. If I do this I will stop wasting the taxpayers money on ridiculous training schemes and job dodgers allowance and in return your income tax will be reduced.

I think Kirsty was thinking about food when she posted the comment which relates to the article of Telford on benefits. Maybe after her training she was multi-tasking?

If the police could catch the thugs and the courts could deal with them properly – 500 lashes or 5 years hard labour – this sort of thing would stop.
Some hope of that!
