Launch of HMS Shropshire in July 1928

The launch of HMS Shropshire in July 1928. The naming ceremony was performed by the Countess of Powis, wife of the Lord Lieutenant of Shropshire. The builders were Beardmore, Glasgow. HMS Shropshire was a cruiser, and was transferred to the Royal Australian Navy in 1943, becoming HMAS Shropshire.

The ship was broken up in 1955.
