Police plea after attack
Friday 30th January 2009, 3:00PM GMT.
A witness who could have vital information about an attack on a teenage boy at a Telford bus station is being urged by police to come forward.
The 14-year-old victim was punched in the head during the unprovoked assault in Oakengates.
Constable Ryan Forster said: “The assault in question seems completely unprovoked and although the victim – a 14-year-old boy – did not suffer any serious injuries, he was punched in the head during this incident.
“The assault occurred at about 8.30am as the bus pulled into the bus station and we are keen to hear from anyone who believes they may have information about it.
“We have been studying CCTV footage of this incident and are now keen to speak to one man in particular as it is possible he has vital information about this assault, or the circumstances leading up to it.
“The man we wish to trace is believed to be white, aged in his late 30s or early 40s and about 5ft 10in.
“He appears to have his hair tied in a ponytail and be wearing blue jeans and a black jacket.”
The incident happened on December 17.
The witness himself, or anyone who believes they may recognise him, is asked to contact Constable Ryan Forster on 0300 333 3000.
