Child sex images vicar thrown out of Church
Thursday 29th January 2009, 3:00PM GMT.
A disgraced former Powys vicar who admitted possessing more than 56,000 indecent images of children has been stripped of all church duties.
The Church in Wales has announced the Reverend Richard Hart no longer has a future with the church.
The 59-year-old, formerly of The Vicarage, Beguildy, near Knighton, was jailed for a three-and-a-half years at Cardiff Crown Court in September.
Following his arrest last January, Hart was suspended from all clerical duties.
Anna Morrell, Church in Wales spokeswoman, said a tribunal had taken place this week to decide his future.
“He provided a written statement in which he did not deny the charge – albeit that he did not admit it either.” she said.

One can never be complacent and sadly there may be many ‘wolves’ lurking in the church in sheep’s clothing.
