Police are trying to trace a driver who was filmed as he raced between Shrewsbury and Telford at speeds of more than 100mph.

The video of the boy racer was posted on the internet site YouTube.

The driver is seen tailgating, taking his hands off the wheel while he sorts through CDs and reaching speeds of up to 105mph as he attempts to complete the journey in just 10 minutes.

The selfish arrogance of people like this never fails to amaze me. When they end up crashing, as they inevitably do, they usually end up taking a few innocent people out with them.

If they actually were skilled drivers they would be able to do this where it’s legal, on a race track or in a rally, but they obviously aren’t that skilled.

What a silly boy and usually the type to kill some innocent road user and getaway unscathed themselves.

Surely it’s someone who wants to be a policeman?

Anyone who knows this fool has a responsibility to report him. If you are a mate of his remeber, it could be you in the car next time and you may not get to the other end in one piece. And if he kills someone else particularly a child and you don’t report him, that death is your responsibility

Might have been one of the Telford Policemen “testing a car”.

Perhaps a little ironic that the Star have ‘bookended’ the clip on their website with a pair of car adverts!

I note from the video that there are other drivers who our intrepid speed-demon doesn’t seem to be able to overtake (or even catch up to!), they would no doubt be breaking the law too, even if not travelling at the speeds of 100+ mph later attained by our ‘hero’.

The only difference is that they weren’t stupid enough to video themselves doing it…

    What a moron.

But he wasn’t the only one – there were at least two others doing similar speeds along the A5, including one in a Porsche (it looked like one to me) who left him in his dust.

I didn’t think much of his taste in music either…

Let’s hope the police identify him and ban him – he probably hasn’t had a licence long (if he has one at all!).

this person needs to be caught asap before he kills someone if he hasnt already done it? if you know him should report him as least it will be 1 careless driver of the road

    pathetic moron.
yet why ban him, wont stop him driving, putting a mark on a piece of paper doesnt disable him from driving. cut his hands and feet off that may do the job, and for all you do gooders out there, think of what he may have done to innocent people driving totally legaly. he’s an idiot.

Chances of the police actually having sufficient intelligence/detective skills to catch him = less than 10%
Chances of the case getting to court if they do catch him = 50%
Chances of him getting the sort of sentence he deserves = absolutely no chance !

    Depressing isnt it.

Kids now a days – useless. I once did the Welsh Bridge to Trench Lock in 11 minutes using the old A5 and no motorways!!
On a more serious note I did learn my lesson and I hope someone has the sense to report him!

You won’t be surprised to find that the person who put this video, plus another of young Mike ‘handbraking’ in Tesco’s car park have been removed from ‘YouTube’.

Too late Mikey boy, you’ve been seen by many, and those boys in blue are on your tail!! ;)
If you have thoughts of doing anything like this again…take a moment to think about your friends lives that you are putting at risk along with other innocent road users or pedestrians.
And while you’re at it…take another moment (if you have time) to think of your family and friends attending your funeral!!
A couple of sobering thoughts for you to mull over…I hope!!

good job they cant afford a real mans car with a decent size engine and brakes and running gear to suit ! hear him commenting on the car infront saying come on pull in etc,the fact is put his toy town vauxhall on a runway against most cars and watch him wet his pants as he realises the only reason he ever manages to overtake others is they dont fancy dying or getting a ticket !!! they are kids with tonka town cars packing less horse power than a stannah stairlift, but the problem is with these cars that are designed for people to do a bit of shopping in, and with no horse power comes, no decent running gear supspension brakes etc etc they should fit them with speed limiters just as they have lorries etc !!!!
