Kim FawkeTelford athlete Kim Fawke said it was strange watching herself on Channel 4’s Supersize vs Superskinny yesterday, but does not regret taking part in the show.

The programme followed the 33 year-old fitness fanatic from Farm Close, Madeley, as she swopped diets with an overweight takeaway addict in a bid to learn about healthy eating.

Since taking part in the diet swop in July last year, Kim, who used to weigh just 6st 6lbs, said she has put on half a stone and is smashing her own time records in half marathon races.

A member of Telford Athletic Club and mother to Nathan, who will be five on Tuesday, Kim said she has had compliments since the show from fellow runners, and has changed her eating habits forever.

“It was a bit weird watching myself on the television, I’m not used to it, but I’ve had so much positive feedback from it before it was even aired,” she said. “As much as it was hard to watch it was good,” she said.

Kim, who assess council tax and housing benefits for Telford & Wrekin Council, said she would often run to work then not have breakfast, but is now more organised about her eating.

“It’s been a very slow gradual process, but people that don’t see me that often have said how much better I look and my skin and my hair look better and I look a lot healthier,” she said.
