RAF Cosford hit by computer bug
Monday 26th January 2009, 11:49AM GMT.
Computers at RAF Cosford have been knocked out of action by a computer virus which is causing mayhem in Ministry of Defence systems around the country.
Up to 70 sites, including several Royal Navy ships and RAF bases, have been affected by the bug, which has shut down computers and knocked out e-mails.
The virus first hit systems a fortnight ago but the MoD says operations have not been affected. RAF Cosford spokesman Graham Lee said: “As far as our main training role is concerned, it’s business as usual. But our e-mail system has been temporarily closed.”
