Aldi pledge on shop bid
Thursday 22nd January 2009, 2:10PM GMT.
Bosses behind plans for a new Aldi supermarket in Whitchurch have pledged to hold a second consultation with people in the area.
Aldi Stores revealed plans for a store in the town last year and has now submitted a planning application to North Shropshire District Council seeking permission to build a food store and two non-food retail units on land off Waymills Road.
Up to 15 jobs would be created by the plan.
Mark Hewlett, Aldi property director, said: “We are keen to keep engaging residents and will keep members of the public informed about the new store proposals.”
