Town promised 20 new jobs
Wednesday 21st January 2009, 11:22AM GMT.
About 20 jobs are set to be created in Oswestry after two firms revealed expansion plans and a town pub announced it was recruiting staff.
Hortech, the national landscape management company, announced today it was looking to move to larger premises within the town and double its workforce.
Leading health store chain Holland and Barrett is planning to open up a new store in Oswestry town centre in the spring, creating four jobs.
And bosses at The Wilfred Owen pub, Willow Street, have announced they are looking to recruit five more staff.
Duncan Jones, Hortech commercial director, said the firm had won a major contract with Severn Trent and would be moving from its Radford Fields base to larger premises within four weeks.
He said the firm employs 12 staff at its Oswestry base, but was looking to recruit a minimum of 10 new workers.
The firm is also looking to open a base in Ludlow, creating up to five new jobs.
