US plane crash pilot hailed a hero

The American pilot who managed to crash land his stricken plane into a river in New York was today praised for actions which saved the lives of everyone on board.
Pilot Chesley Sullenberger told his passengers and crew to prepare for a heavy landing after the plane got into difficulties shortly after take-off yesterday.
All 155 people on board survived.
One passenger said Mr Sullenberger had “done one hell of a job making sure everyone, or the vast majority of people, got off”.
