Time does run slower in Shrewsbury
Thursday 15th January 2009, 11:59AM GMT.
A clock on the tower of Shrewsbury’s Market Hall is running more than 30 minutes slow.
The problem was noticed after electrical remedial work was carried out at the building, which led to an interruption to the electrical supply and caused the clock to stop for a few minutes.
It is not clear when it will be fixed, although electricians have been called to resolve the problem. The clock is out by about 36 minutes out.
The work was first carried out on January 5, but continued on Monday and Tuesday. It followed a periodic five-year inspection where all circuits are checked and which uncovered that some remedial work needed to be done.
A spokeswoman for the Market Hall said: “We are currently organising for a specialist to attend and hope to have the clock working as normal to rectify this.
“Management apologises for any inconvenience this may have caused.”

Well,
Why not cut the power again for 11 hours and 24 minutes? I’ll give details of where to send my specialist consultant fee later.

If the clock isn’t there to function as a timepiece then I assume its only reason for being is its beauty.

36 minutes out? I’m pretty certain Shrewsbury and it’s residents are 360 years out.

Sounds like a good excuse to tear the eyesore down.
