Electric idea for village

Electricity wiresA major electricity plant powered by methane gas from a former landfill site could be on the cards in a Shropshire village.

Waste management firm Sita UK has tabled a bid to install and use the plant at Heathgates Landfill Site, Prees, near Whitchurch.

The proposal to Shropshire County Council would see landfill gas piped away to generate electricity.
