Haulage firms’ vehicles up for sale
Tuesday 13th January 2009, 2:00PM GMT.
Dozens of lorries, dumper trucks, vintage vehicles, plant and machinery are up for grabs in Shropshire following the closure of two county haulage firms.
RHP transport, which has undergone a company re-organisation, will be holding an auction on Saturday from 10.30am at its base in Stafford Park, Telford.
Viewing will take place on Friday between 9.30am and 4pm and also from 8am on Saturday morning. Company assets to go under the hammer at RHP include 15 tractor units and a total of 50 trailers.
Bosses at family-run TA Jervis & Co of Doseley, Telford have decided to close their doors with the loss of eight jobs after work dried up after 84 years of business. They will be holding an auction on January 24 at the same times. Viewing will also be held the previous day.
Vehicles from TA Jervis & Co that will go up for sale include 10 tippers, garage and yard equipment and a selection of plant, including excavators and dumper trucks.
The open public auctions are being held by Loggerheads-based Malcolm Harrison. To view the vehicles, visit www.malcolmharrison.co.uk/auctions

Very sad to hear again of loss of jobs. Someone will have a bargain as these lorries at TA Jervis have been well looked after, they have an excellant mechanic, someone needs to snap him up.

It is very sad to see the Company close, my husband worked for Nigel a few years ago and only left due to health problems, he considers TA Jervis to be the best company that he has ever worked for, Nigel was very good to him and they were a great buch that worked there. It will be very sad not to see the lorries on the M54 in a morning. Good luck and best wishes to everyone involved.
