Sadness at letter on Middle East crisis

Friday 9th January 2009, 9:16AM GMT.

I was deeply saddened by the letter from Mr David Ashcroft, January 5, blaming the Hamas movement for the Middle East crisis, without condemning the brutal, barbaric and bloody action of Israel in killing 500 and injuring 2,000 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.Mr Ashcroft closed his eyes watching BBC, CNN and other TV channels showing the smoke of the phosphorus, cluster and dime bombs falling on the innocent children, women and old folk living in the Gaza Strip.

Palestinians living in the Gaza Strip have suffered from the Israeli blockade of the humanitarian and other vital aid for the past two years and the supporters of democracy and human rights have been silent.

There is no alternative for the resistance movement to retaliate against Israel.

Mr Ashcroft should tell readers of the Star how many Israelis have been killed by the rocket attacks.

There is no military match between Hamas and Israeli armed forces which is supplied with the most modern and sophisticated war weapons.

The current war strategy of Israel is to dehumanise 1.3 million Gazans and force them to submit to Israel. It is sad that none of the Arab countries has protested about this human carnage in Gaza.

It is the last shot of Mr Bush, who will be remembered as a warmongering president and history shall never forgive him.

It appears that peace in the Middle East is a remote possibility until Israel changes its behaviour of bullying its neighbours.
