Inquests to be opened

Tuesday 6th January 2009, 12:55PM GMT.

Investigations were continuing today into the unexplained deaths of two Leominster men.

The bodies of friends Andrew Smith, 40, and Paul Smith, 43, were found in the River Lugg in the town on Saturday. They had been missing since December 30.

Pete Butcher, for Herefordshire Police, said a post mortem was due to be held tomorrow and an inquest was expected to be opened on Thursday.

He said: “We are still treating the deaths as unexplained, but we are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.”
