In Calgary canada its been down as low as -30c with out the wind chill

Sorry Gary, I can beat that. We were in Calgary yesterday and yes it was cold, but we got home to Whitecourt, Alberta where it is currently -38C!

Gary… that’s why I left Calgary 30 years ago and moved to the Okanagan where we have a balmy -27c.
Also the winter doesn’t last quite so long; for example one May Long Weekend (24th of May.. we celebrate Queen Victoria’s birthday in this country) I couldn’t get out of Calgary because of a heavy snowfall.
Besides that, we have great wine, beautiful lakes, and summers with +35c.

ok but back in 1984-85 winter, shrewsbury or more in the area was -30oC .. what i would give for some of that +34 for me…
